Is inclusive of befriending pain.
Life is intertwined with suffering.
It’s the balance,
the effort,
due diligence,
the tolerance,
deliberate patience,
That paves the way for blissful reward.
Losing one person is met with grief,
Because love and joy came first,
Along with repairing rupture.
These exchanges,
The ever changing reality,
Requires a willingness to listen,
Especially when it hurts,
Or else the pain will get worse.
Like a festering ingrown hair,
Ignored lets infection set it.
Sure some release naturally,
But not in a world insisting to repress.
Positivity in perfection,
Is only ignoring human reality:
We are beautifully imperfect.
In that space laughter erupts,
Pain chased away,
Simply because two+ are willing to embrace.
Change a must,
Growth a constant,
Lest one seeks internal eruption.
Claiming peace in chosen avoidance,
Illustrates a lie,
Perpetually told,
That totally avoids being alive.
Pain is my friend,
When it is,
I can listen to my whole experience.
Make choices that meet my needs,
Even value those outside of me,
Clearly hurting,
Seeking a place to lean.
Now to find a way to connect beyond;
That requires another willing,
To listen to the full spectrum,
Of humanity.
