I love you,

A gift was unreturned.

Perhaps it isn’t meant to;

What ever the case,

You came back…

For more.

Spouting lies of adoration,

Even though you knew,

You saw no value in me:

Beyond laughter.

Your joys,

My sorrow,

Your adventures,

My terror.

And still you pass it onward,

Helping others,

Steal,

Cold and heartlessly,

Regardless of how many

NOs come forth from my throat.

My lips are nothing,

But sweet red targets,

You wait,

Ready to produce,

The gag order.

And I may choke,

Sputter,

Even stutter…

But I will speak again.

When I do,

Even if the majority believes you,

Someone out there,

Will recognize my words,

As like their own,

And when that happens,

You’ll find yourself drowning,

In the truths,

Surrounding you.

Sink or swim?

Either requires acknowledgment,

Nay,

In the mud,

You will choose to stay;

Avoiding all consciousness.
