All reality tv has done is run the emotional equation of psychological manipulation/harm equates reactive abuse on an explosive and physical level, on repeat.
.
Did you just see someone freak out?
.
Was it your patient? Child? Partner? Friend?
.
Do you/they participate (put your child) in ABA, DBT therapy but have explosive events regularly?
.
No one needs told what to think. Just like schools need to teach HOW to think, therapists need to be directly doing the same only with feelings (not telling someone what they feel, teaching them how to reflect into self to feel for themselves). Otherwise it’s a contribution to snowball already rolling from the entire reason someone sought out help.
.
In addition, an ableist bias in medicine means not valuing someone differently abled enough to dismiss their valid medical concerns. Ie ableism is a belief set that prevents professionalism in medicine.
.
Yup, racism, sexism, ageism, nationalism all do the same.
.
The hate groups keep claiming it’s free speech to say hurtful/hateful things.
.
But that quantifies in the neural system as psychological harm which in turn that has been proven to give a physical response not only in reactivity but in that verbal assault victim’s physical health sometimes to the depth of activating illnesses epigenetically.
.
The whole legal system is based on not doing harm intentionally.
.
Why are hate groups and people weighing other’s worth to actually help them professionally being treated any differently than someone that punches another over a wrong food order?
.
People know they are causing harm. They want to. That’s what qualifies these bias as hateful. When someone cries out ‘ignorance’, all I know is kindergarten covers how to respect each other as equals.
.
It’s simple: when you cause harm and someone tells you, it’s not their interpretation, it’s your behavior. Blaming people for being hurt by things that don’t hurt you is not a functional defense; it’s emotional manipulation/ dismissal: intentional disconnection.
.
No condemnation of hell required. Just an apology and a choice to be aware of self enough to not continue to crap on everyone who is different from you.
.
The golden was nice until it proved pain passing true.
.
What one does not seek to BE is easy to be hateful towards, you see. One by the golden rule would see someone different and want them to be the same and try to force it. ‘Do unto others as does to self’ doesn’t survive the test reality when someone’s differences mean they need different treatment as well. Clinging to it in the face of connection is to deny the earnest communicated truth of another in the attempt. The golden rule fuel to gaslight.
.
The platinum rule: do unto other’s as they ask of you.
.
Takes effort, but easy never lasts anyway.
.
Noting that being affected by psychological manipulation is not a WEAKNESS. Its a human thing. Just like a bullet to flesh, the social mammals that we are, when healthy enough to care about others, is automatically impacted by each other. It’s not strength to be impenetrable socially, it’s sociopathy/illness that harms self and all beings around you. Not only that, people who do this to others, hone their techniques. They target those who are isolated and already hurting. They behave no better than a scavenger, while preening themselves as mighty hunters for their egos… as a means of stuffing down the pain they won’t let themselves feel. If they cause the same pain they feel, the nervous system gets a tiny piece of that strength back as it realizes the event wasn’t about them in the subconscious that is insistent on righteousness in pain passing: I survived it, why shouldn’t they?!
.
Because causing harm is uncivilized.
