to deny harm caused
they flip the responsibility onto the victim by weaponizing mental health
with assumptive diagnosis to dismiss feelings shared.
This abuser is attempting
to pass on the trauma of punishment for sharing resulting in emotional repression.
This is not connective communication
but is authoritarian
as it allows one person to decide for another in a moment of conflicting realities.
Abusers often feel entitled to authority/ control over their victims even when covert/ manipulative.
Telling someone they shouldn’t feel one way
while labeling it illness
is a sure fire way to convince someone they are the problem
instead of addressing what actually caused hurt.
This is the easy path for the abuser
as it means the only person who has to change is the one expressing and feeling pain.
Essentially it means the abuser has decided
the victim should change how they feel
as the abuser does not care enough to change behavior.
The US has done this with many countries the corporations actively undermine economically in the name of profit for a sparse few. They villainize those citizens who stand up to the harm caused by their control.
Interpersonal or global scale:
abusers do what abusers do.
