Unless it is their own…..

The oddest thing our community has decided upon is not being there for your fellow man. The person you so willingly call friend when you need them. So few stay loyal and true when things go ugly. For years my grandparents have tried to instill in me the lack of community we have in our current social environments. To me this was a foreign idea, as my family and the friends of the family raised me like a close knit community.  They believe strongly in the idea that “It takes a community to raise a child.” These over versed words have been lost in time. I know this because everyday you see children missing or/and murdered. Instead I will reiterate a single simple ideal: If you expect someone to be there for you when everyone seems to be throwing in the towel, then do it for them because we each walk an ugly path and cross another for a reason, so act like it. If you see a kid screaming, take note of what is going on, listen, watch. Obviously sometimes they get unruly and scream meaninglessly, but its all to obvious that those times where meaningless was most of the time is fading. Children are our future and if my generation is failing at helping each other up how can we expect tomorrow’s generation to raise the nation to higher standards? Its a call to you all to stand up and become a community. Fight the years of exclusion that we have allowed our schools to become. Teach yourself now and by your actions those around you will learn. Spread the goodwill illness! Cause goodness knows this world needs it.
