We started sharing stories,

In words,

Eventually text.

Believing what another said.

Sound effects, adjectives,

Preposterous exaggerating,

Anything to entertain,

Minds surviving.

Black and white,

Grey scales.

Painted faces behind cameras

Like clowns,

Not that the majority knew,

They witnessed innovative definition:

Anything but the full truth.

What seems like a blink ago

To some,

Is unimaginable to others;

Yet, the whole joined with ‘Oz’,

In a full spectrum of color.

Beautiful narratives,

The truth of humanity revealed:

The world wondered the whole.

Reality embraced,

Even in fantasy.

What of our society?

Wrong and right is still labeled,

In black and white.

Class still determines,

Punishment’s severity.

Trauma mind embraced,

As justice in good faith.

The whole leans in,

Structural foundation seems firm,

But is collapsing,

Word for word.

See these hard lines between,

You and me,

Do nothing but divide,

Impart a decline.

Even twins are individuals,

A white couple birthing a child of color,

Genetics a variable,

Still studied,

A mystery.

Anywhere unique is found,

Wars are waged,

Internal, external,

Cultural, global.

A demand to fit in one box or another,

When truth fails to redefine,

Excommunication,

Just like the ‘good ole’ days’.

No normal,

Beyond single measurements,

As numbers illustrate.

Neural development determined

In experiences,

Spectral.

A choice to believe another,

Can share their reality.

A willingness to accept,

While seeking shared truths,

Embracing differences,

As the cement,

With which foundations are held together.

Each moment,

We remain intent to separate,

Based on finite definitions,

Of the full exposure,

As if words and boxes,

Could ever describe,

All humanity remains,

Globally intertwined.
